LAPRA Open Enrollment

Annual Enrollment is your once-a-year opportunity to evaluate your health care needs and make any changes to your medical or dental coverage and add or remove eligible dependents. The 2026/27 Annual Enrollment period starts May 1 and ends May 31 with benefits effective July 1.
What’s New?
For 2026/27 you will continue to have the same plans and coverage options that you have today with the following benefit updates:
• Anthem PPO Dental Plan: Coverage for night guards increased from 60% to 80% in-network.
• VSP Vision Plan: The retail frame allowance is increasing to $200 and elective contact lenses is increasing to $175.
• Premiums: There are some changes to medical and dental plan premiums.
Information about the benefit enhancements and 2026/27 premiums will be included in upcoming Annual Enrollment communications.
Enhanced Family Building Benefits
With the passage of California SB729, LAPRA’s medical plans will provide more comprehensive coverage for fertility treatments starting July 1, 2026. The medical plans through Anthem Blue Cross and Kaiser will now include:
• IVF coverage including up to 3 complete egg retrievals and unlimited embryo transfers.
• Donors and surrogate services including procurement and retrieval of donor sperm, oocytes and embryos.
• Cryopreservation coverage for those who need to preserve embryos or sperm.
