On August 1, 2024, at the commission’s first meeting of the month, Elected Retired Police Commissioner Garrett Zimmon presided over his first meeting as the President of the Board. Garrett previously served as the Vice President.
President Zimmon retired from the police department in 2002. Garrett served on the LARFPA Board of Directors until he was elected to the LAFPP Board. He was elected to the board in July of 2019. He will serve one year as president. Appointed Commissioner, Andrea Ambriz will be serving as the vice president.
