Essay Questions

As part of the application process, you are required to submit your responses to the following essay questions in a Word document (.doc or .docx). Please ensure each response is between 300–500 words.

Essay Questions:

1. Leadership

Describe a time when your leadership was more about listening than directing. What did you learn about influence from that experience?

2. Community

a) How has your definition of “community” changed as you’ve grown older or experienced new environments?

 b) If you could solve one small but persistent challenge in your community (not a global issue), what would it be and how would you start?

3. Extra Curricular Activities

Which extracurricular activity has shaped your identity the most, and what would be different about you if you hadn’t pursued it?

4. Conflict Resolution

When do you believe it’s better to seek compromise — and when is it important to stand firm, even if it creates conflict?

5. Strength and Weakness

What personal strength has ever backfired on you, and how did you learn to balance it?

6. Topical/Current Events

If you had five minutes to speak to local leaders about a current issue, what would you say — and what change would you ask for first?

7. Personal Statement/Goals

Why do you believe you deserve this scholarship, and how would receiving it impact your future?

Instructions for Submission:

  • Combine your responses into a single Word document.
  • Include your full name and email address at the top of the document.
  • Upload the completed document in the designated file upload field in the application form.

Important Guidelines:

  • Your essay responses must reflect your original thoughts, ideas, and experiences. Using artificial intelligence (AI) tools or software to generate your answers is strictly prohibited.
