On November 8, 2024, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the 2025 premiums for the Medicare Part B program. Beginning January 1, 2025, the standard monthly premium for Part B will increase from $174.70 to $185.00.
The Los Angeles Administrative Code provides that LAFPP will reimburse the Medicare Part B standard premiums for retired members and qualified surviving spouses/domestic partners who are enrolled in both Medicare Parts A and B.
Pensioners who receive Medicare Part B reimbursement are required to submit proof of their 2025 Medicare Part B Premium in order to receive a higher reimbursement amount. Pensioners may submit either a copy of their Social Security benefits statement or their bill from CMS as proof of their new Medicare Part B premium.
